Living Treasures

With the coming Chinese New Year, we are pleased to announce a sequel to last year’s highly successful lai see fund-raising project. This year, we are introducing four exclusive new designs honoring our city’s “living treasures” – the disadvantaged elderly whose vital contributions to Hong Kong and its development have all too often been overlooked in the rush to modern prosperity.

We are inviting you to support this project, by ordering sets of lai see packets, exclusively designed by LTD. All proceeds from orders will again be donated to SoCO (Society for Community Organization).

Home is where the heart is

Invite those without a home into your heart.

LTD has launched our first charity project, dedicated to those who will be spending New Year’s alone and without the comforts of home.

We are inviting you to support this project, by ordering sets of lai see packets, exclusively designed by LTD. All proceeds from orders will be donated to SoCO (Society for Community Organization), which assists people living in Hong Kong’s infamous “cage homes” and the homeless.

The Hong Kong Golf Club Website

LTD created an all-new, fully interactive website for The Hong Kong Golf Club, founded in 1889 and one of the world's premier golfing complexes.

WagnWalk

LTD designed the T-shirt for the SPCA Event WagnWalk in the beginning of 2010.

The Hong Kong Golf Club Annual Report 2009

This cover shot of The Deep Water Bay Club House was photographed at dawn in late March 2010. The Clubhouse and course are lit at night by two large floodlights. It was a very challenging problem for the photographer. Josiah Leung and his crew started setting up the shot at midnight with a total of 40 HMI lights to light the Clubhouse inside and out. We then waited until dawn to get the perfect shot – a “hole in one.”

“It was a fascinating experience working with The Hong Kong Golf Club and LTD for the shot. Despite the misty and hazy weather, the unexpected sunrise finally came, worth the long and exhausting set-up of 40 HMI lights starting 11pm. This fabulous shot would not have been accomplished without the assistance and creativity from our clients.”

ONE exhibition

Date: March 25 to May 30, 2010
Venue: HKDC Library

An exhibition organized by Hong Kong Design Centre and curated by miniminigallery. It is a rare opportunity to see the early works of more than 40 famous Hong Kong graphic designers, and a good chance to glimpse through how design techniques, subjects and aesthetics transform over the years.

"The class was conducted by Milton Glaser in the early 1980s in New York City. This was the first assignment given to us by Mr. Glaser. We are asked to give our most honest expression to the word ‘DESIGN’.
For myself, the continuous experiences of life are the roots of design, and the flavors of the these diverse experiences all meld into one in the course of one’s career."

Redesign menu wall system for Café de Coral (China)

Project: Branding development
Date: October 2009

Wonderful challenging experience to recreate a menu system in such extensive scale. The project is to unify the brand in the rapidly growing South China region. Over 150 food photos were taken. Took close to a year to complete the first prototype. More details at ltdhk.com

T-shirt design for SPCA

Project: Invitation to design T-shirt for fund raising activity
Date: September 2009

"Compassion is most important for happiness. We must treat fellow human beings as equal, that is very important, but also all beings who have capacity for feeling. So the innate desire for happiness that is the basic of human rights extends to all sentient beings, including animals and insects" Kundun.

This T-shirt, "The Wishing Tree", is inspired by the above quotation. Lilian believes humans are responsible for the welfare of animals. The portrayed on this T-shirt found homes with her and her family. Katz and Jello were adopted from the SPCA. Norbu the cat was rescued as a kitten stranded on Magazine Gap Road.

Theme: Mediterranean seafood restaurant right next to Cirque de Soleil

LTD was responsible for Portofino's brand identity (including Chinese naming and signage system) as well as environmental graphics (wall design and the mosaic floor).
